This project examines the impact of COVID-19 on transgender women’s health, focusing on access to financial support and gender-affirming care. Using data from an NIH-funded survey, it analyzed changes in mental health, healthcare access, financial stability, and gender affirmation through exploratory data analysis (EDA) and network analysis. Statistical and network analysis tools, including network coincidence and clustering, were employed to identify patterns and relationships within the data, providing insights into how the pandemic influenced the lives of transgender women in areas such as income stability, insurance access, and support for gender health.
Network Analysis: Applied network coincidence and clustering methods to explore relationships between survey responses.
Clustering and Community Detection: Used Leiden clustering to group response patterns, analyzing connections within key areas like financial and mental health.
Statistical Testing: Conducted chi-square tests to examine associations between demographic variables and community clusters, identifying significant relationships.
